 Love

A Dual-Purpose Post

Turn on your mind, relax and float downstream.
It is not dying.

I would like to thank Taylor for all her hard work and all the love that she has spread throughout the stream. It really means a lot to me and has us all stopping for a moment to think about what we have in our friends here. It has me thinking about smelling the roses. Take time.

George Martin took some time recently and Side C is currently spinning at precisely 33 1/3 revolutions per minute. The vinyl I ordered arrived at the store today, and since Li'l Helio is waiting for a delivery from Minneapolis to get him rockin', I carefully snugged the "new" Beatles album, "Love," into my backpack and scootered on home. I got some great stuff but this album is the piece de resistance (forgive me Roger.) It sells for $58.98, four sides of heaven; a bargain.

In case it hasn't made the news today, Lennon lives.

George Martin and his son Giles went back to the master tapes and created a soundtrack for a Cirque du Soleil show in Vegas (I blogged a bit about this before,) reworked a tad more than I would have liked, but when you hear the crystal clear refrain from Paul not to carry the world on your shoulder, it's as if he's in the room and enough to make Atlas take a vacation.

All You Need Is Love

...and Taylor, we'd like to thank you once again...
She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah!

 Nude Elliptical Stylus

It's all coming together now...

I didn't realize the nuances involved in the vinyl resurrection.

The OM20 has an elusive quality
of relaxed, easy listenability that makes
it perhaps the most appealing in the
survey; the OM30 strikes me as fractionally
more transparent, lively, and
dynamic, but at a slight cost in the
sheer listenability of its sibling (as the
two share the same body, switching
between them is simply swapping stylus
assemblies). One of my notes reads,
“The 30’s Clark Gable to the 20’s Cary
Grant.” The 30 in particular projects a
bold, vivid picture of primary colors,
perhaps a little coarse but always full
and rich (especially in the lower
midrange, where it tilts toward the
warm side of neutral). Next to some of
the better MCs, there is an impression
of less refinement and delicacy, a bit
more really fine grain. But the price
differences are large, the losses quite
small to insignificant.

The OM20 is on the way via the internet...not available for immediate purchase by any of Atlanta's 4+ million residents, myself regrettably included, in any retail store...yet

 Stumblings

and i heard her say

before a jury today

is that the price i pay

are ya willin' to say

it's just a game I play

when you are away

I don't get real strife

just imaginary life

and the one's they brought

played a little naught

a secondary thought

the one that they held down

the pleasure's a dream

though not far gone

are these the lives we live

or the ones we hold on

are the boys so tough

or at least that rough

can they understand why

or give an alibi

i see that they are there

and we are where

are we gonna go on

or stop and stare

these times they count

or you can count me out

are you so damn sure

I'm what it's all about

are there're stories untold

and a little too bold

are we ripe for the bite

or a bit too old

can you send a sign

to this 8-track mind

that would serve to unfold

or to simply embold

the lives we live

are not far from the cold

Upstream

I'll keep dancin' no matter which way the stream flows!

I will seek out the cleaner waters.

I may even spawn.
